James DeVoll, D.M.A.

Flute/Piccolo

JAMES DEVOLL has performed throughout the United States and Europe, including with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Mill City Summer Opera, South Dakota Symphony, and many others. In addition to teaching at St. Joseph’s School of Music, DeVoll teaches at the MacPhail Center for Music and is on the faculty of Gustavus Adolphus College. He has been a clinician and judge for the Minnesota All-State Bands, teaches every summer at Floot Fire in Dallas and at the International Music Camp in North Dakota, and has served as President of the Upper Midwest Flute Association. DeVoll studied at the University of Minnesota, Yale, and the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Additional studies were in France, where he obtained a diplôme from the Conservatoire Internationale d’Eté in Nice.
