Pianist MARY DUNCAN has a Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance from the University of Minnesota, where she also earned her master's degree in Musicology. Duncan has served as organist and choir director at a number of Twin Cities churches, and currently serves as assistant collaborative pianist at White Bear Unitarian Universalist Church where she performs with the 8-voice women's ensemble Harmonia. She has appeared as soloist and accompanist at many venues, including with the Macalester Festival Chorale, the Dale Warland Singers, World Voices, and Sommerfest. Her interest in combining music with spoken word led to the creation of several theater pieces with writer and humorist Lori Powell Gordon. Duncan has been on the faculties of Bethel University and the University of Northwestern, and she is a longtime member of the Minnesota Music Teachers Association, where she has served as an adjudicator, committee member, and presenter.
