JENNA GULLICKSON holds her Bachelor’s of Music Performance from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where she studied flute with Immanuel Davis. A native to the Twin Cities, Jenna has been teaching locally since 2013. Chamber music and interdisciplinary collaboration are her biggest passions in music, and she has formed a number of chamber groups and premiered new works in collaborations. As a private instructor, Jenna has experience teaching students of a wide range of age and ability. She draws inspiration from Alexander Technique and Body Mapping philosophies, emphasizing healthy body use and prioritizing techniques that will help prevent injury and improve resonance and musicality. Her wishes for her students are for them to grow through music in confidence, self-expression, mindfulness, and diligence.
In addition to teaching at St. Joseph's School of Music, Jenna is the flute instructor and flute choir director at Hopewell Music Cooperative North, where she also helps lead an outreach music education program. She assistant teaches a Suzuki flute group class, and is pursuing further Suzuki Teacher Training courses, excited to incorporate their method into her teaching. Outside of music, Jenna enjoys cooking and reading, and is an amateur potter and outdoors enthusiast.
